Casting Crowns to minister in Pine Ridge Reservation
WASHINGTON (AP) _ Instead of exchanging gifts this Christmas, Casting Crowns lead singer Mark Hall says his family is sending blankets to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.
Hall says it’s a way to teach his children that Christmas is more about giving than receiving.
Hall, who’s also a youth pastor, adds that his family plans to take part in a church mission trip to the South Dakota reservation next Spring.
It will be a return trip, since Casting Crowns has performed at Pine Ridge to help raise money for a children’s center on the reservation.
Hall says he’s been to India and Africa, but was shocked to see that kind of poverty in America.
