Lifelight festival attracts crowds, donations
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) _ Co-founder Alan Greene says this month’s 12th annual LifeLight Christian music festival near Sioux Falls, South Dakota, was one of the best ever.
Greene says the festival had a record crowd on its final day, when The Newsboys performed, and total income over the three days surpassed $372,000.
The festival does not charge admission, but the 270,000 attendees contributed about $219,000. The rest of the income came from food and merchandise royalties.
About 3,000 Bibles and 20,000 gospel booklets and tracts were handed out during the festival. LifeLight Communications also sponsors concert tours, missions, student ministries and other activities.
